Church Tours

We organise tours around Churches in our diocese and beyond for which there is a nominal fee.

Our first tour in 2024  was on June 29th and was enjoyed!  Photos below.

The second tour is on July 27th starting at 2pm at Blore St Bartholomew. Then we go onto Ilam Holy Cross at 3pm and finish at Waterfall St Bartholomew and St James around 4 to 4.30 and end there with the usual tea. There is plenty of parking at Blore which can be found by turning down the lane beside the HPB Blore Hall site. This will be on your left if approaching from Ashbourne.

The price is £20 for non-members and £17 for members.

Please show early interest by emailing Katie Brown at

Here are highlights of the tour on Saturday June 29th.

The last church was Gayton where an excellent tea was laid on and the winners of the Ride and Stride 2023 were presented with their prizes.  Christopher Smart did 6 churches (13 miles over 7 hours on a very hot day!) as a walker and Keith Ridgway did  20 churches as a cyclist

Here are some highlights from 2023

The first one was on Saturday 24th June and visited Shenstone Church and Old Tower, Wall, Chasetown St Anne and Shareshill.  Photos of the excellent day out are below.

The second one was on Saturday 29th July visiting Church Eaton (Flower festival), Bradley and Moreton.  There are a number of photos (somewhat random) below.  Two of them show Bishop Matthew presenting the plate to John Baddeley for the best entry for Ride and Stride last year, that is most churches visited on the day.

The third tour was on September  24th - Covering Ingestre, Great Haywood RC and Colwich churches.  The photos John took are below.
